Workshops

Are you interested in any of our workshops, but do not have time to come, when we hold him? Do you want to discuss in depth just what you are experiencing in our section at conventions? Do you want to organize a group dance / circus / puppet / alternative theater workshop, but have no tutor? Do you want a workshop or a series of workshops tailored to your group? Examples of workshops available for any group and freely mixable:

Dance Workshops:

ANALYSIS OF MOVEMENT (Laethé)

  • Movement is obvious. Wait! Is movement really obvious?
  • Try for a moment to focus on the mechanisms of your own and foreign movement - what is connected with what, what are the smallest and largest possible moves, and so on.

CONTEMPORARY (Ssri)

  • Someone calls it modern dance form .. Someone says it's scenic ... but it's still dancing! DANCE with soul, dance with a story, dance with expression.
  • We will work a lot with the natural ability of the body, we will discover movements, of which we had no idea!! Without hindrance, without rules.
  • Let yourself be inspired not only by your own body, but also music, painting and poetry.

FOUR TO TANGO (Laethé)

  • Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it a dance? It's TANGO!
  • Tango. Dance personalities, dance partner relationships that are anything but ideal.
  • Come and try! Who says you must know the steps, to know how to dance?

BASIC WORKSHOP OF THE IMPROVISED CIRCUS (Laethé)

  • Freedom of movement - space - angles and vectors planes in balance - balance in pairs - catch and tilt - "Tango": Responding to another in a pair or more people - emotions: love, passion, fear, mistrust, hatred - waves, that you must respond to: other reactions in space - the foundation of fight style : punches and pressures on the body - Fight
  • Bring: comfortable clothes, hand bandages (if).

It is also possible to agree on the workshops, that would teach beginners belly dancing, Irish dances, and Renaissance dances.

Circus Technique Workshops:

CLOWN WORKSHOP (Laethé)

  • Pyu! Nyu! Grin! Bang! Bam! Fall! Roll! „Now do it with the glass wall, I totally love it!“
  • Come and try one of the oldest professions: jester-juggler-clown!
  • Part of the workshop will include mime, a few principles of commedia dell'arte, physical acting, inventing and realizing gags.

BALANCE, BALANCE, OR YOU FALL (Laethé)

  • The center of gravity of the human body is two inches below the bellybutton.
  • How to find the perfect balance? Rope, stilts and even balancing on all manner of things.

It is also possible to agree on the workshops, that would teach beginners acrobatics, poi, staff twirling or manipulatonal magic.

PUPPET MASTERY WORKSHOP COURSE (Laethé)
Five workshops, Five views on the puppet.

Sunday TWO HUNDRES YEARS OLD TARANTINO - TRADITIONAL HAND-PUPPET THEATRE.

  • „Mama, ish it normal that the jester is ripping apart the kingsh heady?“
  • Brutal hand-puppet and puppet theater from the Punch and Judy to Jan Svankmajer.
  • Video presentations of all genres, very understandable explanation of the meaning of puppetry techniques, and even the chance to try the puppets out yourself.

Monday: PUPPETS UNPUPPETS

  • „It's alive!“
  • Can a puppet be an apple, a piece of paper, Stuffed animal? Sock? Handkerchief??? Impossible?? NO, very much so. Possible.
  • Videos again, but mostly attempts to make a puppet of literally everything we have at hand.
  • Bring: one soft toy, one clean sock, a clean cloth handkerchief.

Tuesday: MARIONETTES

  • „A Marionette is a puppet controlled from above by thin strings." The Puppet Master, who controls a marionette, is called a manipulator. Manipulators are either hidden or revealed to the audience, using vertical or horizontal control levers, which can take various forms.“ (Wikipedia)
  • I can feel the possibilities!!! Just three sentences from Wikipedia and I'm starting to itch for thin strings, contrl levers, and most human puppets. And tell me who doesn't!!!
  • Come play some classic fairy-tales and become a manipulator just by the way.

Wednesday: SHADOW THEATRE

  • How to drive away the horrible shadows with even more horrendous shadows?
  • Human hands create animals, Middle Eastern paper puppets play with the light… And you can too!
  • You can enjoy a completely new way to percept light, shadow and darkness.

Thursday: PUPPETS AS PEOPLE, PEOPLE AS PUPPETS

  • Can I be your puppet? Want pull the strings? And whose is that huge shadow?
  • Puppet interpretation with YOU as the puppet!

Workshops of the basics of theatrical theory and experience:

COMMEDIA DELL'ARTE (Laethé, Sari)

  • How do characters with set rules, and improvisation tolerate themselves? Masks, and the street? Immerse yourselves into the magical world of the 16th century theater. Meet the mischievous Harlequin, the lazy Brighella, fragile Columbia, prudent Pulcinella, greedy Pantalone, devious Dottore, proud Capitano and the gentle Innamorati.
  • Everyone finds the character, that suits him best!

THEATRICAL ANTHROPOLOGY (Laethé)

  • Where can a theatrical dancer get to know, on what basics he should build his performance?
  • Theatrical Anthropology dedicates to the search of helpful advice and tips, and detection of principles repeated many performances of different performers at different locations at different times, despite the stylish forms specific to that particular tradition.
  • Anatomy - education - expansion - Dramaturgy - Energy - Balance - equivalence - hands - cut or assembly - nostalgia - the face and eyes - an omission or abbreviation - opposites - feet - expressionality - reconstruction of Conduct - rhythm - Scene and Costume - Historiography - technology - text and stage - training - vision.

ACTORS' METHODS (Laethé)

  • Ever wondered how actors' prepare their roles, performances???Come and find out more about the different types of acting - acting Shakespeare, emotional, physical, the famous Stanislavsky method, and its less famous sister, and others. Lecture with illustrative examples.

HISTORY OF EUROPEAN THEATER (Laethé)

  • ----- „And?“ „Well, then that… thingimabob…“
  • Lecture: to understand the history of opera in Europe from Ancient Greece to the Present.
  • Greek theater portraying the man and the universe, to the Roman decadence and decline of the theater after the uprising of Christianity, the rebirth of the theater before the altar, the Medieval form of theater, portraying the Bible, and still shunned by the Church, Commedia dell'Arte, or the return of the jesters and bards, Shakespeare, Moliere with his opera and ballet, symbolism naturalism, Stanislavsky and the dawn of directors, and all forms of modern day theater. Not enough?

HOW TO MAKE A PLAY? (Laethé)

  • „Even in four people we can make a crowd scene.“ „So let's do the siege of the Winter Palace“ „That's crazy, all you need to top it is a zombie.“ „So let's do the zombie siege of the Winter Palace!“ (Quoted from the Theatre Section, 2008)
  • A little experience to know, just what you all need to do, to prepare a play.
  • 1. DRAMATURGY situation analysis, meaning, the gestures and movements captured in the text, the search for analogies and metaphors, keywords, identification of the subject and much more
  • 2.DIRECTING analysis of the situation, relationships between characters, theatrical metaphor, working with space, working with the actor, action and reaction, words, words, words , the interaction between the characters in the text and the actors on stage, and more

Music workshops and vocal workshops:

MUSIC WORKSHOP (Laethé)

  • Between noise and music is only a thin border line, whose exact border is a mere matter of individual taste. Still, it makes sense to look for it, and try to breach it. Everyone can sing!
  • Vocals, rhythm, playing musical instruments.

RHETORIC (Laethé and/or Emil)

STORY TELLERS (Laethé)

  • „BOnce upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away, in a little village, there lived a…“
  • Stories are eternal, storytelling is one of the oldest arts known to mankind.
  • But what makes a person a good storyteller? Will tell you a little theory and then we'll practice. :)
  • Hours: with two hours of theory + practice + self + training practice two hours (spread over several days).

PHYSICAL IMPROVISATION (Laethé)

  • Two people, two personalities, two bodies.
  • Touch and distance, action and reaction, pressure and resistance.

BUILD A HOUSE, PLANT A TREE (Laethé)

  • Come to play god and create a new world out of old debris.
  • Loosely inspired by the already nonexistient American troupe Goat Island.

SPACE (Laethé)

  • Dynamics between the body and space. Learn to perceive space differently!

REASONS AND CAUSES FOR THE EXISTENCE OF ISLANDS (Laethé)

  • „According to geographers, there are two types of islands. One kind point out that the sea is spilling over the land and that it takes advantage of each higher structure, the latter show that land is still here, even under the sea, that collects the power to tear up the surface. Discover two battles of the elements that have terrified humankind for centuries.“

BLIND AND PERCEIVING (Laethé)

  • What would it be, to become suddenly blind?
  • Would you be able to orientate yourself in space?
